I have fallen in love with Georgia. Jekyll Island and Driftwood Beach have been on my Georgia Bucket List for some time now. And it has definitely been a dream of mine to shoot a portrait session on the stunning Driftwood Beach. This wedding was a dream come true for its location, but also close to my heart, because of my relationship with the Bride and Groom.
I met Tamera and Bradon when they were in high school. We had just moved to Georgia and had only known them for a few short months. I shot both of their senior sessions as well as their prom pictures.
I felt so honored when they approached me to capture their wedding day. A huge added bonus; the wedding would take place on Driftwood beach on Jekyll Island!
This wedding actually turned into a family affair. The day before we left we received the call asking if Charming could do the opening prayer and welcome for the ceremony. Usually, Eric performs the ceremony or I capture the wedding, but rarely do we get to do both together. It was such an honor to be apart of the wedding in such a special way.
Unfortunately, Hurricane Dorian looked like it was heading straight for the Georgia Coast. We were on Dorian watch, not knowing if the wedding would be delayed or moved. Dorian passed the coast leaving it untouched. The result, a very deserted island for a wonderful wedding weekend.
