Every year I sit down and make a Georgia Bucket List. I go through all my notes on my phone of places I have seen and saved, and my screenshots of places and I make a list of dream places I would like to go in Georgia when I have free time.
Watson Mill Bridge State Park has been on my list for two years. I had a friend that asked me all summer to take her on one of my adventures, and one day we made it happen.
Watson Mill Bridge State park is beautiful, and it isn’t laid out as your normal Georgia State Park. When you enter the park you get to drive through one of the few covered bridges in Georgia. Which my friend loved and was terrified of! Parking is $5 per a car and is on the honor system. Grab an envelope, place the cash inside, tear off the car tag and drop the money in the box.
Now this is a natural watering hole. Which means as you walk over the rock slides that are on the far side, be careful, because if you take a wrong step, down you go! the whole’s aren’t that deep, my 5 year old could stand just find, it is just the shock of the drop.
The rock slides are on the far side, they are long and will give you a good ride. Also, take a second and go up by the “waterfall”. The kids enjoyed having the water fall over them.
