There is truth in the saying the days are long but the years are short. I can not believe the baby girl who made me a mom turns 11 today. It feels as if she should still be that preschool girl who has over the top facial expressions and loves jamming out to Andy Mineo in the back of our car. Each year I watch Sydney grow a little bit more. She has faced her fears a little bit more this year. She has worked harder than ever before in her school work. She loves those around her in a big way. This next year Sydney will face many more firsts, and this momma prays as you walk through those milestone moments, that Jesus will remain the center of it all for you.
The tradition of birthday pictures started about three years ago. Taking time each year to capture the kids turning one year older has become a sweet tradition for our family.
This past year Sydney was able to experience and grow in so many different ways. Sydney enjoyed time at the beach, lake, rock slides, and getting to rope swing for the first time. She took to the tree’s for ziplining and rope’s courses, crushing her fears. She learned how to ride her bike while in Florida visiting her grandparents. She started out the school year homeschooling and than switched back to in person in October. She has worked hard in school and has learned to motivate herself to give her best. She has loved big, and learned to serve others.
This next year she steps into middle school. While the thought of her in this new season brings hesitation and lots of for her momma, it also brings so many wonderful opportunities that will shape her.
