If you have ever visited Helen, Ga maybe you passed the school bus graveyard on your way and wondered about those old school busses up on the hill. Is it possible to see them up close? How do you get up there? What is the story behind those school busses?
Each time we make the trip to Helen we always pass these cool school busses up on the hill. Well I did some research and learned it is the school bus graveyard and you can stop and go up to view the school busses.
There is no parking lot for this road side attraction. You pull off on Crane Mill Road and park along side the road. You will see a cement drainage ditch and you follow that up the main road and take it up the hill to the school busses.
Thankfully we have always gone when the grass is short so the mosquitos are not bad. When friends come to visit, they think it is the greatest thing in the world that we stop, explore and take some pictures at such a unique place.
How many people live in Georgia, go to Helen every summer and pass the school bus graveyard never stopping in. Sometime the sweetest adventures are the ones we decide to take a moment and try somewhere we pass all the time.
