Sydney turns 12!

Usually for each of my kids birthday we do a birthday shoot. This started several years ago when Sydney was probably 8 or 9 years old. Each passing year another one of my kids begins the tradition of a birthday shoot. It is fun for us to sit down and plan their outfit and location of where they want to do their pictures.

Last year I wanted to do mountain top pictures for Sydney. We tracked down a beautiful dress, woke up early and made the drive. This year because of the move Sydney requested beach pictures. Originally we were thinking of doing the lighthouse on Sanibel and then I found out Siesta Key has lifeguard stands.

Growing up in Florida I thought there was nothing to do, however upon moving back I realize there is so much to their beautiful state I have yet to explore. Siesta Key in Sarasota was one of those places. We were able to explore/experience Siesta as well as take Sydney’s birthday pictures.

We were originally suppose to leave one morning at 6 am to make the drive. Sydney choose to sleep in, so we rescheduled the following evening for a picnic dinner with the whole family. The littles enjoyed the water, charming enjoyed the towel, and when it got later in the evening Sydney and snuck away for a few shots. Unfortunately I didn’t think the beach would be as packed as it was for a Sunday night but we were still able to get a few shots.
